This 4-day Rwanda and Uganda safari combines primate tracking, mountain hiking, and scenic travel across the Virunga region. You begin in Kigali with a guided city experience, then cross into Uganda for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The journey continues with an active hike on Mount Sabinyo in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, before returning to Kigali. Day 1: Arrival in Kigali, City Tour, and Transfer to Bwindi
You arrive at Kigali International Airport where your guide welcomes you and gives a short briefing. You head into Kigali for a guided city tour that covers key cultural and historical sites. You enjoy lunch in the city before starting your scenic drive toward southwestern Uganda. The journey takes you through Rwanda’s rolling hills and across the border into Kisoro. You check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Travel time includes 3–4 hours for the city tour and about 3 hours to Kisoro. Lunch and dinner are included.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
You wake early for breakfast and prepare for the highlight of your safari. You head to the park headquarters for briefing and allocation of a gorilla family. Rangers lead you into Bwindi Forest where you track the gorillas through dense vegetation and steep terrain. The trek takes time, but the reward feels unmatched. You spend one full hour with the gorillas as you watch them feed, move, and interact. After the experience, you return for your trekking certificate and transfer back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 3: Mount Sabinyo Hike and Transfer to Gisenyi (Lake Kivu)
You start the day with breakfast and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You begin the Mount Sabinyo hike, one of the most exciting climbs in the Virunga range. The trail challenges you with steep sections and ladders, but rewards you with dramatic views across Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. You stand at points where the three countries meet, which makes the hike unique. After descending, you cross back into Rwanda and drive to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu. You check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
The hike takes about 6–7 hours. All meals are included.

Day 4: Leisure Morning and Transfer to Kigali
You enjoy a relaxed morning by Lake Kivu with fresh air and calm views. After breakfast, you begin your transfer back to Kigali at a time that matches your departure flight. The drive offers scenic countryside views before you arrive at the airport.
The transfer takes about 3 hours. Breakfast is included.
