Masai Mara FAQs
When are the river crossings?
Typically August and September, with build-up in July and a tail in October. They are not a daily performance on cue.
Reserve or conservancy?
Conservancies offer fewer vehicles, night drives, and walking. The main reserve holds some of the most famous crossing points. Many trips use both.
How many nights?
Three. Two nights is only a taste, especially after the Wilson flight.
Is it crowded?
The reserve can be, especially at a crossing or a big-cat sighting in August. Conservancies and shoulder months are the fix.
Can we combine the Mara and Serengeti?
Yes. They are one ecosystem. We cross by air or by the Isebania / Bologonja routes depending on the month and papers.
