This 2-day safari offers a short but unforgettable experience in Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most iconic park. Witness the thunderous Murchison Falls, cruise along the River Nile to spot hippos and crocodiles, and enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the park’s savannahs.
Day 1: Pickup – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Top of Murchison Falls
Wake up early for breakfast and meet your guide/driver. Begin your journey north, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot. These rhinos were reintroduced after poaching wiped out Uganda’s original populations, and your trek also offers opportunities for birding and spotting primates.
Continue to Masindi for lunch, then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, visit the top of the falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging 40 meters with a thunderous roar. This dramatic scene is accompanied by rich wildlife, from elephants and buffaloes to hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of bird species.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Nile River Cruise – Return
Rise before dawn for a morning game drive across the park’s savannah plains. Spot elephants, lions, hyenas, giraffes, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, warthogs, and more. With luck, you may also see rare species like sitatungas, bushbucks, and leopards.
Return to your lodge for lunch, then embark on a boat cruise along the Nile. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and birds such as kingfishers, cormorants, goliath herons, and the rare shoebill stork. The cruise ends near the base of the falls at the “Devil’s Cauldron,” offering a spectacular photography opportunity.
After the cruise, begin your return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the evening.
