Gorilla Trekking Safari in Rwanda and Uganda taking you to watch gorilla in Volcanoes national park and Bwindi impenetrable forest. Both trekking experience are quite different and totally worth going for. This tour starts and ends in Kigali.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Pick up from either your htel in Kigali or from the Kigali international airport be transferred to Kigali for a city tour including a genocide memorial site and shopping of African art and craft. Later, proceed to Musanze former Ruhengeri to enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is famous for. Dinner and overnight at Mountain gorilla view lodge /Le bamboo gorillas /Muhabura guest house

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Ibyiwacu Cultural Village
Start off with early breakfast and be transferred to Kinigi Park Headquarter for briefing before you start the trekking activity in the park. Trekking for gorillas is tough, strenuous and tiring, the time spend looking for gorillas is un predicable. But coming in contact with the great primates is well worth the effort. You spend one hour with the gorillas watching them do their day today activities, its quite breath taking. Dinner and overnight at your hotel of Day1

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, cross the Uganda via the Katuna border and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the home for the mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp / Bakiga Lodge

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
Wake up to an early breakfast at your hotel then proceed with your guide with packed lunch boxes to the Bwindi sad offices for a briefing about how to conduct during your trekking adventure. You will then enter the thick impenetrable forest in search for the rare intriguing giants. After a full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos, return to the Camp for dinner and overnight

Day 4: Bwindi NP – Queen Elizabeth NP
After your breakfast, you will drive northwards to Queen Elizabeth NP driving via the Ishasha sector to view tree climbing lions. You will enjoy the Ishasha game drive in search for the tree climbing lions as you look out for other wildlife like the kobs, topis, buffalos and a variety of antelope species grazing in the Ishasha plains. Have lunch and proceed to Mweya reaching in the late afternoon for an evening game drive and later check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge(luxury ), Enganzi lodge (deluxe) .

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking – Afternoon boat cruise
Wake up to an early breakfast and head out for chimp tracking in Kalinzu forest reserve. Return to the lodge for lunch and later embark on a boat cruise along Kazinga channel to have a glimpse of the park’s wildlife variety including Elephants, buffalos, kobs, topis, water bucks, bush bucks, crocodiles and hippos among others that always storm the channel for water in the afternoon. You may also be captivated by fascinating bird species like the kingfishers, pelicans, African martial eagle, African fish eagle, African skimmer and if lucky, the prehistoric looking shoe bill among others.

Day 6: Game drive – Transfer to Rwanda
Take an early breakfast and head for Kasenyi trail for a remarkable game drive in search for the parks 100 mammal species. Look out for the early raisers like the lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals among others as they return from their night’s hunt. You may also see herds of buffalos, elephants, bush bucks, water bucks, gazelles, topis, kobs, among others. Return to check out at the lodge and start your journey back to Rwanda.

Day 7: Kigali City tour – and Departure
Have breakfast at the lodge and later drive back to Kigali for a grand city tour. Expect to tour historical places like the genocide memorial site, the national museum. Later have lunch and drop off at either your hotel or the airport.
