- Highlights: Steep initial ascent, Sasa River Camp, Jackson’s Pool
- Best for: Adventurous hikers who want a quick route to Wagagai
- Sipi Trail (Kapchorwa)
- Start point: Sipi Falls (2,050m)

- Highlights: Forest walks, spectacular views of the Karamoja plains

- Piswa Trail (Kapchorwa)

- Cross-border hikes are possible with special arrangements. Most visitors hike on the Ugandan side due to better infrastructure and access.
Permit Fees and Logistics
All hikers must pay park entry and hiking fees. Porters, guides, and camping gear can be hired at trailheads.

Best Time to Hike Mount Elgon
Dry Seasons: December–February and June–August
These months offer the safest trail conditions and best views. Rains can make the slopes muddy and the rivers harder to cross.

Getting There
