Day 1: Pickup – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls
Wake up early for breakfast and meet your driver/guide. Begin the journey north to Murchison Falls National Park, with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot. Here, you’ll learn about conservation efforts and the history of rhinos in Uganda.
Continue to Masindi for lunch before reaching Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, visit the top of the falls to see the Nile River squeeze through a narrow gorge before plunging 40 meters in a spectacular display.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Nile River Boat Cruise
Rise early for a morning game drive across the northern savannah plains. Spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and warthogs. Rare species like sitatungas and bushbucks may also be seen.
After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Nile. Observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds, including kingfishers, goliath herons, and the rare shoebill stork. The cruise ends near the base of Murchison Falls, offering amazing photo opportunities.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park – Bigodi Wetlands
After breakfast, drive to Kibale National Park, passing through picturesque towns and the scenic Rwenzori Mountains. Check in at your lodge, then visit the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary for a guided walk to spot birds, primates, and other wildlife in a lush swamp ecosystem.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After lunch, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Check into your lodge and relax for the evening.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast, head to the park office for the gorilla trekking briefing. Rangers assign you a gorilla family based on your fitness level. Trek through forest trails to locate your gorillas, then spend one hour observing these magnificent primates.
In the afternoon, optional visit to the Batwa community to learn about their traditional forest-based lifestyle and culture. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer Back to Kampala
After breakfast, begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping for lunch en route. If time allows, visit the Equator Crossing at Kayabwe for photos and souvenirs. Arrive in the late afternoon or evening, concluding your 6-day wildlife and primate safari.
