Detailed Itinerary
Day 1. Arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer to kibale national park.
Our representative, your driver/guide, will greet you upon arrival at Entebbe, go over your safari itinerary with you, and then take you to Kibale National Park.
During your lunch stop along route, you pass by the traditional homesteads of Mityana and Mubende as well as the tea estates of Kabarole. After arriving at Kibale in the afternoon, you check into the Kibale Forest Camp for the night and dinner.
Day 2: Trekking with chimpanzees in Kibale National Park.
You drive to the park offices after breakfast at around 7:45 a.m. for registration and a briefing before beginning your chimpanzee trekking experience.
Trekking in Kibale Forest, one of the oldest forests in East Africa, typically takes three hours.
In addition to other monkey species and a variety of bird species, like the Green-breasted Pitta, this forest is home to over a thousand chimpanzees.
We return, unwind, eat lunch, and then, at 2:00 pm, go for a nature walk at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. After the trek, you return to the lodge for dinner and spend the night.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Kibale Forest Park.
Following breakfast, we head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing via the Kabarole crater lakes region. Once inside the park, we take a short game drive and settle into the Kyambura Game Lodge.
After lunch and some downtime, we take a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel at 3:00 pm to see the wildlife up close as it cools off along the shores of the channel connecting Lakes George and Edward. Come back to the lodge in the evening for dinner and over night.
Day 4: Visit Bwindi Impenetrable Forest from Queen Elizabeth National Park.
We begin the day early with a 6:30 a.m. game drive across the Kasenyi plains, where we look for a variety of animals, including buffalo, kobs, warthogs, elephants, waterbucks, lions, hyenas, and, on lucky days, leopards.
Following the two to three hour game drive, we return to the lodge for breakfast, check out, and then, depending on our luck, drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector, where, depending on the day, tree-climbing lions may be spotted.
We stop for a packed lunch on the way and then check into the Ruhija Gorilla Mist Camp or Buhoma Community Rest Camp for supper and the night.
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
We head down to the visitors’ center for registration and briefing after breakfast, at approximately 7:45 a.m.
Before beginning the gorilla trekking experience. The workout could involve walking up steep hills in the occasional muddy situation. This trip, which involves visiting the Gorilla World, could take two to eight hours.
When you visit the gorillas, you spend an hour with them for conservation reasons, and the guide will give you behavior tips. Afterwards, you spend the night and eat back at the lodge.
Day 6: Make your way to Bunyonyi Lake.
Following a leisurely breakfast, we check out and head to Lake Bunyonyi. We arrive in the afternoon, check into Bunyonyi Overland Camp, eat lunch, unwind for a while, and then have a boat ride around the lake later in the afternoon.
We can view several aquatic birds as well as some traditional dancers and pygmies on this boat ride to some of the lakes’ islands. Afterwards, we spend the night and dine back at the camp.
Day 7: Lake Mburo National Park to Bunyonyi.
Following breakfast, we check out and head to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping for lunch along the way as we travel through the undulating hills of Kabale and Mbarara. We arrive in the afternoon and check into Eagles’ Nest.
Then, at approximately 4:00 p.m. later in the afternoon, embark on a 1.5-hour boat ride on the lake. Afterwards, we spend the night and dine back at the camp.
Day 8: Entebbe, Lake Mburo National Park.
The day starts early as we take a nature walk in the morning to look for wildlife, which includes, among other things, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, impalas, elands, which are the largest antelope in Africa, topis, bush bucks, reedbucks, waterbucks, oribis, bush pigs, and leopards.
Depending on how much you use on the walk and how interested you are in what you see, this usually takes two hours. One of the nicest walks in Uganda is this one.
We return to the lodge, eat breakfast, and then make our way back to Kampala, stopping for lunch along the way.
