Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Serengeti National Park.
We will leave your hotel in Arusha after breakfast and travel to Serengeti National Park. Our path will take us near the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, with opportunities to see animals along the way.
The golden savannah and boundless plains teeming with zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes demonstrate why the Serengeti is one of Africa’s seven natural wonders. We’ll have a picnic lunch at Naabi kopje, a little rocky hill in otherwise flat landscape where we can see the Serengeti’s iconic pink-headed lizards.
Following lunch, we’ll head deeper into the plains for a leisurely game drive. You will spend the night in Serengeti.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park and transfer to Ngorongoro Crater.
We will start the day with an early morning game drive through the center Serengeti. As the sun rises, the savannah comes alive with bird music, and the area is illuminated by golden light. Your guide will follow animal prints in search of predators and large herds of grazing animals.
Later, we will go to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater & Transfer Back to Arusha
After an early breakfast, we will go to Ngorongoro Crater, where the early hours are ideal for game sightings. We will go on a game drive around the crater, stopping for a picnic lunch at a tiny lake in the park. This lake is a home for hippos and migrating species, making for an enjoyable visit. The crater’s “oasis” setting provides a great chance of seeing all of the ‘Big 5’: the ferocious lion, enormous elephant, elusive leopard, charging rhino, and intimidating water buffalo.
Ngorongoro Crater, built over two million years ago by the collapse of a major volcanic eruption, is still an unbroken crater. Inside this amazing habitat, you will find lively zebras, ponderous hippos, fast wildebeests.
