Ntarama Genocide Memorial site is a former church at which some victims of the 1994 genocide were massacred. This church is found in Bugesera town and only an hour’s drive from the capital city of Rwanda – Kigali. Sat this site, about 5000 lives were claimed many of which were children and women. These had sought the church for protection but all this was in vain since their killers got them here. At this place, there’s where the most brutality and cruelty was displayed by the attackers. The victims at this site, are seen from the remains clearly showing what happened that day with all their belongings covering the floor and hanging from the walls; clothes, suitcases, a child’s white sock – the last remnants of a desperate flight for life.
